Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has been discussing Gareth Bale’s future as his Real Madrid contract ticks down.
The Welshman is out of contract in the summer, and we have no idea what will be next for the winger.
The 32-year-old will be free to move at the end of the season, and Ferdinand reckons Newcastle are a potential suitor.
What’s been said about Bale?
Ferdinand was speaking about Bale’s future.
“Who takes Gareth Bale man? That’s the question, who takes Bale?” Ferdinand asked.
“Newcastle,” Ferdinand’s co-host Joel Beya said.
“That’s a good shout, a good shout, Newcastle.”
“Newcastle are the only team in the Premier League who would be willing to make a mad appointment like that, I know you know him personally Rio, but I just think his career has been done a minute ago,” Beya added.
“I just think he’s a massive talent man, if you can get him on the cheap, and you can take the wages down, you have a chance to have massive opportunity. It’s a risk because he hasn’t played loads recently, he didn’t set the world alight at Spurs, but he still scored a few goals,” Ferdinand said.

Good shout
Newcastle could be a great destination for Bale.
The winger knows the Premier League well, and United are one of the only clubs in the world who could cover his obscene wage bill.
On top of that, Newcastle aren’t exactly the best team in the world, so he’d be given quite a lot of freedom as one of the Magpies’ better players.
Don’t be surprised if this rumour ramps up in the coming months.
