Nottingham Forest confirmed on Monday evening that striker Nicklas Bendtner has left the club in order to join Norwegian outfit Rosenborg.
Having been released by Bundesliga side Wolfsburg in April, Bendtner spent almost six months without a club before joining Nottingham Forest in September.
The Dane, formerly of Arsenal and Juventus, arrived with a big reputation but little end product in recent years, and that continued into his time at the City Ground.
Bendtner managed to score just two goals in 17 appearances for Forest, with his lowest moment coming with an own goal against fierce rivals Derby Couny in December.
With no appearances since taking on Leeds in January, Bendtner’s days at Forest have appeared numbered for a while, especially since deals for Zach Clough and Ross McCormack were struck, whilst Ben Brereton’s emergence has also pushed Bendtner down the pecking order.

Now, the 29-year-old is on the move again, as he has penned a three-year deal with Rosenborg, as confirmed on the Norwegian club’s official website on Monday evening.
Forest fans have taken to Twitter since Bendtner completed his move, with many pleased to see him depart the City Ground having made virtually no impact since arriving at the club, and claiming that better strikers are already at the club.
Others suggested that Bendtner was as good of a striker as Fawaz Al-Hasawi is as the owner of the club, with others noting that Derby fans are the only ones who will remember him fondly.
