Championship outfit Nottingham Forest are reportedly set to sign Sammy Ameobi after he was released by Bolton Wanderers.

Sammy Ameobi appears to have done just about enough during Bolton Wanderers’ miserable 2018/19 to justify a new start in the Championship.
According to The Post, Nottingham Forest are set to sign the 27-year-old on a free transfer. Ameobi was released by the cash-strapped Trotters after their relegation to League One, despite the fact that he had another 12 months left on his contract, but are Forest making the right call giving the enigmatic winger a fresh start?
Well, Forest fans have been left unsurprisingly divided by reports that Ameobi is on his way to the City Ground.

But perhaps the best way to judge this former Newcastle United younger is by checking out what Bolton fans think about him. And a quick glance at Twitter suggests that, while Ameobi is clearly not short of talent, application may be an issue.
As one Trotters supporter pointed out, it’s not a case of ‘skill’ – but Ameobi’s ‘will’ often leaves a lot to be desired.
Can Nottingham Forest really afford to carry a player who, while capable of the odd wonder-goal, is also likely to be anonymous and inactive more often than not? Maybe Roy Keane left at the right time.
