James Maddison has taken to Instagram to praise Fabio Vieira after he shone for Arsenal in the 3-0 Europa League win over Bodø/Glimt.

Fabio Vieira impresses again for Arsenal

Mikel Arteta has slowly eased the 22-year-old into first-team action following his £34m arrival from Porto back in June, but the Portuguese maestro is now starting to shine for the Gunners.

Vieira registered a goal and an assist last night as Arsenal continued their fine run of form, which has seen them win nine of their ten games so far this season.

After the final whistle, Maddison was seen responding to Sport Bible on Instagram, where he found time to praise the Portugal Under-21 international while also strangely pointing out how long his neck is.

You can see what the Leicester No.10 wrote on Instagram below.

In our view, Vieira is more than just a “good player” – he could be something special.

The Arsenal No.21 showed off his incredible technical ability with a delicious cross for Rob Holding to put the Gunners 2-0 ahead, before he displayed a poacher’s instinct to smash home a cutback from Gabriel Jesus.

Vieira earned himself the WhoScored Man of the Match award as a result of his efforts, on a night where he truly dazzled for the north Londoners.

Fabio Vieira may end Arsenal interest in James Maddison once and for all

According to The Sun, Arteta was keen to sign the England international from Leicester, before eventually deciding to buy Vieira with the Foxes holding firm on their £60m valuation.

Now, we doubt the Spaniard will revisit his interest with Vieira performing so brightly.

Significantly, the Portuguese playmaker is only 22, whereas Maddison is 25, and with both players operating in similar positions, we presume Arteta will place his faith in the younger option.

There is no doubt that Maddison is one of the best players in the Premier League, but from our point of view, his chances of a move to the Emirates Stadium have sailed.
