Leeds United head coach Javi Gracia has suggested to Leeds Live that he could include Georginio Rutter in the starting lineup against Graham Potter’s Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in London in the Premier League on Saturday.
Rutter started for Leeds in their FA Cup tie against Fulham on Tuesday evening.
And Gracia has suggested that the 20-year-old could start against Chelsea today as well.
The France Under-21 international forward joined Leeds from German club Hoffenheim in the January transfer window.
The youngster has made five substitute appearances and has played twice in the FA Cup for the West Yorkshire club since his move to Elland Road in January.
Georginio Rutter could start for Leeds United vs Chelsea
Gracia said: “It’s an option. Some of you asked me about it after the game. It’s an option, a real option, to play with two players up front.
“In this case in the last game I’m happy with the way Georginio played. What I’m not so happy about is the goal disallowed. In my opinion it was really, really soft and after watching, really soft.

“In my opinion that circumstance can change the game and during the game it was the same in the second half. Before they scored we had one clear chance with Weston giving a good pass for Summerville, we were really close and that’s why I’m a bit disappointed because we wasted a good chance to get a better result.
“Now, speaking about the next game I think it’s a good option to play two players up front, whoever it is, with Georginio, with Patrick, with Rodrigo, with Aaronson, with all the attackers we have in the club.”
Good idea
In our view, it would be a good idea for Leeds United head coach Javi Gracia to start Georginio Rutter and Patrick Bamford in attack against Chelsea.
The Blues will be without star defender Thiago Silva, and we believe that Leeds could get at them.
Chelsea are really struggling at the moment, and even though Leeds are an inferior team, if they play on the front foot, then they could do damager to the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.
