‘Good news for us’: Some fans react to decision on Liverpool 29-year-old last night

Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter to Luis Enrique’s decision not to start Thiago Alcantara for Spain on Sunday. 

The 29-year-old came on after 55 minutes as Spain recorded a 2-1 win against Georgia during their World Cup qualifier.

Some Liverpool fans feel it’s good news that Thiago didn’t start for the second game in a row, which bodes well for them when he returns to domestic duty.

But with another World Cup qualifier coming up on Wednesday night, others do feel that he may well start that encounter.

And given that Spain turned their fortunes around, from being 1-0 down, when Thiago came on, it might now indicate towards the technically-gifted midfielder starting their next match. 

Either way, he has picked up some much-needed form after his struggles on Merseyside since that summer move from Bayern.

Thiago’s talents are there for all to see, and when Jurgen Klopp can pick from a fully-fit squad, it will be interesting to see how he performs.
