Fabrizio Romano has revealed some pretty encouraging news for Tottenham regarding Heung-min Son on his Here We Go podcast.

The transfer guru said: ‘Heung Min Son has new agents now, they have a great relationship with Tottenham board. This is good news for Tottenham [for his contract renewal].’

The South Korea international has teamed up with American sports agency CAA according to the Associated Press (via the Daily Mail), who also represent Jose Mourinho, Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez.

It can only be a boost for Spurs to have CAA involved with Son’s contract talks, seeing as the north London outfit have presumably already done business with the agency when appointing Mourinho.

Keeping the former Bayer Leverkusen forward in north London is vital for Tottenham given his incredible form of late, and also in general since they signed him for £22 million in 2015.

Since arriving, Son has scored 95 goals in 238 games for Spurs, while also assisting 51 strikes.

He has become a real favourite of Mourinho’s since the ex-Chelsea boss was appointed.

The Tottenham boss has started Son in all six Premier League matches so far, while he is even learning Korean to communicate better with the attacker, according to The Sun.

Mourinho also recently heaped praise on the 28-year-old.

He told Sky Sports: ‘He is such an incredible kid. Everybody in the club is totally in love with this player and trying to make him feel part of the furniture.’

In just nine outings this season, Son has scored ten goals – he is arguably in the form of his life.

In that respect, Romano’s update should be music to the Tottenham supporters’ ears.
