Some Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal reportedly being set to sign Ben White.
What’s the story?
According to The Athletic, Arsenal have agreed a deal with Brighton and Hove Albion over the transfer of White.
The Gunners will pay the Seagulls £50 million in transfer fees for the former Leeds United loanee.
The 23-year-old will undergo a medical after his holiday and then complete the move.
The Sun have reported that the England international defender will sign a five-year contract.
Chelsea reportedly made a late move for White, who can also play as a right-back or as a midfielder, but the defender is moving to Arsenal.
What are Chelsea fans saying?
As you can see from the tweets below, Chelsea fans think that Arsenal are overpaying for White.
Well, some of them anyway.
White has played just one season in the Premier League, but the 23-year-old was part of the England squad for Euro 2020.
A player is worth what a club pays for him, and it will be interesting to see how White fares at Arsenal.
White made 36 appearances in the Premier League for Brighton last season, and scored one goal and gave two assists in 46 Championship games for Leeds in 2019-20.
