Some Arsenal fans are not happy about some team news regarding their clash against Chelsea in a couple weeks.
David Ornstein of The Athletic has reported this afternoon that Romelu Lukaku won’t be eligible for his debut against Crystal Palace this weekend.
Chelsea haven’t officially completed their £97.5 million move for the big Belgian powerhouse yet.
And therefore it’s the game against Arsenal on August 22 which is more than likely going to represent the 28-year-old’s debut – or second debut, rather.
And suffice to say that some Gunners fans aren’t chuffed with the idea of that at all. Here’s what they’re saying:
Record
Lukaku hasn’t got a stellar record when it comes to Arsenal, so there shouldn’t be this much frustration.
According to Transfermarkt, he has only netted five goals in 17 games against the North Londoners across all competitions.
That being said, it has been a few years since he has faced Arsenal and no doubt has blossomed into a more dangerous number nine since then.
By the same token, the Gunners have arguably got worse since last facing Lukaku so, in a way, the form book goes out the window – especially when it’s a debut.
