It’s fair to say that Arsenal fans aren’t taking the news about Lautaro Martinez possibly joining Tottenham Hotspur well.

The Times reported out of nowhere this morning that Spurs have jumped ahead of their North London rivals in the race to sign the Inter Milan star.

Arsenal have been heavily linked in recent weeks but it’s Tottenham who have reportedly agreed a £60 million fee with the Italian club.

And here’s how some Gunners fans are reacting on Twitter:

Understandable

You can understand Arsenal fans’ frustrations.

Remember, this isn’t the first Argentina player who the Emirates Stadium side have missed out on, after failing to sign Emiliano Buendia back in May.

And the fact that Martinez could be going to Tottenham, of all clubs, is clearly a massive kick in the you-know-where, if it does indeed materialise.

The good news is that Arsenal are still a very big club, irrespective of the fact that they have no European football to offer their targets this season.

And at the very least, Spurs’ reported interest should absolutely make them step up their interest before it’s too late.
