West Ham fans are furious after The Times revealed that Liverpool are unlikely to receive a points deduction for their part in the Super League.
The Reds were one of six Premier League clubs to sign up for the elitist scheme, which was met with huge backlash across the football world.
Rightly so.
After they, and the other five English clubs, backed down and withdrew, many have called for them to be punished.
The Daily Mail revealed that each side has already lost £8 million, and could be set to face more severe financial consequences after breaching a contract.
In this case, West Ham fans are more upset about the lack of a points deduction.
Why? Well, that’s obvious. Jürgen Klopp’s are breathing down West Ham’s neck in the race for a Champions League spot.
Liverpool currently sit seventh on 53 points, whereas the Irons are fifth with 55 points to their name.
With six games to go, it really is crunch time.
It goes without saying that a points deduction for the Reds would’ve been a major boost in the race for top four.
