The ex-Liverpool captain impressed in Scotland, with Gerrard leading Rangers to the Scottish Premiership unbeaten last season. And now, the former England international will get to test himself in England.

Gerrard will take charge of his first Villa match on Saturday. And the hype surrounding that fixture has cranked up to 11 following the club’s interview with their new manager.
