Andy Carroll has been playing well for West Ham United in recent weeks.
Iain Dowie has spoken highly of West Ham United striker Andy Carroll on the club’s official website.
Carroll is in good form at the moment and has been scoring goals regularly in recent weeks.
The 28-year-old striker has scored five goals and created seven chances in 10 Premier League appearances for West Ham so far this campaign.
The former Newcastle United and Liverpool striker scored in the 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace at the London Stadium in the league earlier this month.
The England international found the net twice in the 3-1 victory over Middlesbrough away from home at the Riverside Stadium in the league at the weekend.
Former West Ham striker Dowie, who now works as a pundit, has praised Carroll and told the club’s official website: “He is just a handful and the quality of the goal he scored against Crystal Palace was just special.
“He has had a run of games and got fitter and stronger and that’s important because when he is fit, the other team’s defenders know they are in for a game.
“He gives a different element to the way West Ham can play, and he’s also a good footballer on the floor and it showed how good he is technically with that goal last week because that wasn’t an easy technique.”
West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang has also spoken highly of Carroll and told the club’s official website: “Everyone knows Andy Carroll, when he is in the area you can do nothing. It is very hard to defend against him and we are lucky to have him.”
Carroll is not a world-class striker, but he is certainly a good player who adds a different dimension to West Ham’s attack.
The former Newcastle man will be important for the Hammers for the rest of the season. West Ham have a chance of ending up in the top 10, and the striker will play a key role in that quest.
The Hammers are currently 10th in the Premier League table with 28 points from 22 matches.
