Richard Keys has praised Newcastle United on his website for deciding to wear their famous black-and-white stripes for the Carabao Cup final against Manchester United.
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle will take Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United in the final of the Carabao Cup this season.
It will be the first final of a major club competition that the Magpies will have played in for almost a quarter of a century.
According to The Times, Newcastle will wear their traditional shirts and black shorts.
The final will be played later this month.
Against Manchester United at Old Trafford earlier this season, Newcastle wore their white ‘Saudi’ strip.
It has been a controversial kit.

The strip is white with a green trim and resembles the second kit of the Saudi Arabia national team.
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) owe 80% of Newcastle.
BeIN Sport presenter Keys has praised Newcastle for their decision regarding the kit change.
The former Sky Sports presenter has added that he hopes that Newcastle beat Manchester United in the final to win the Carabao Cup.
Richard Keys on Newcastle United kit decision v Manchester United
Keys wrote today: “One last thing. I was delighted to read today than Newcastle will wear their famous black and white stripes at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final. Good decision.
“Do you remember they they changed into their Saudi national kit for the game at OT? I know why teams do it – especially Newcastle – but there’s nothing like watching your team play in their proper kit on big days out.
“So black and white stripes it is. And I have to admit I hope they win it. They’re long overdue.”
