Leeds United will face Aston Villa in the Championship on Saturday evening.
Eddie Gray has praised Leeds United head coach Garry Monk on Aston Villa’s official website.
Monk was appointed the Leeds head coach in the summer following the departure of Steve Evans at the end of the 2015-16 season.
Initial results and performances were not great, but things have improved and the Whites are now in the running for the playoffs.
The West Yorkshire outfit are fifth in the Championship table at the moment with 29 points from 18 matches.
Former Leeds winger and manager Gray has praised Monk for what he has done at Elland Road so far.
“He’s still a young manager and is still learning himself but he’s got good knowledge of the game,” Gray told Villa’s official website about Monk.
“I speak to him quite a lot, he’s enthusiastic. The players are working hard and working hard for him. He’s brought a bit of confidence to the football club.
“I think he was a bit unfortunate with how things went in the end at Swansea but he’s definitely a go-ahead young manager. It was a good coup for our club to get him in the summer.”
Leeds will return to action on Saturday evening when they take on Villa at Elland Road in the Championship.
The Whites will head into the match on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool away from home at Anfield in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.
Monk’s side got the better of Rotherham United 2-1 away from home at the AESSEAL New York Stadium in the Championship last weekend.
Leeds will fancy their chances of picking up all three points against Villa at Elland Road this evening.
