Charlie Adam has said on BBC Sportsound that Ibrox club Rangers should consider Manchester United first-team coach Michael Carrick as their new manager.
The former Rangers star has said that Carrick could be like another Steven Gerrard for the Gers.
Liverpool legend Gerrard left Rangers this week to become the new manager of Aston Villa.
Adam said on BBC Sportsound, as transcribed by TheBootRoom: “I’ll throw a name in the hat. Michael Carrick – he has been at Man United, a big club, good coach. It was a gamble with Steven.
“Will they go down that same route? Will they go for an experienced name? There will only be three or four people that know.”

Michael Carrick to Rangers?
There are no credible reports anywhere claiming that Rangers are considering Carrick.
Sky Sports have reported that Rangers have already held talks with Giovanni van Bronckhorst today.
It is very unlikely that Rangers will approach Carrick now.
The former Manchester United midfielder himself may not be willing to leave Old Trafford during a season.

The 40-year-old was a brilliant player during his time and has a strong reputation in the game.
However, in our view, Carrick would be a big risk for Rangers at this stage.
Yes, appointing Steven Gerrard back in the summer of 2018 was a gamble.
But remember the Liverpool legend was appointed before the start of a season and was allowed time to build a new team.
Rangers won the Scottish Premiership title last season and are leading the race this campaign.
Any new manager will have to hit the ground running.
Appointing someone like Carrick who has no prior full-time first-team management would be a risk for Rangers now.
