Claudio Bravo is flattered by suggestions that he could be on his way to join Arsenal or Celtic this summer when his contract at Manchester City comes to an end, speaking to 24Horas.

At the age of 37, one of the most decorated goalkeepers of the modern era perhaps has one last big move in his sights before he hands up his gloves.

And with two British giants looking to add some strength in depth between the sticks, do not be surprised if Arsenal or Celtic come calling.

Mikel Arteta knows Bravo well from his time as a coach at Manchester City and the former Barcelona ace should, on paper at least, bring some much-needed leadership and a real winning mentality to a club that continues to lurch from crisis to catastrophe.

But if Bravo wants to add a few more medals to his already enviable collection, then a move north of the border should appeal. Celtic will be in the market for a new shot-stopper with Fraser Forster heading back to Southampton after all.

And, speaking to reporters in his homeland of Chile, Bravo admitted his pride after being linked with a number of ‘good clubs’.

“Because you do things in a good way, your name comes out in good places, linked with good clubs,” says a man who has won 16 trophies for club and country.

“But I do not lose focus. In that sense, the only thing I am looking for is tranquillity, to be comfortable in one place.”

Bravo’s time at Manchester City might have been tainted by some high-profile errors but there is a reason why Pep Guardiola was so keen to make the Chilean captain his number one when taking over at the Etihad in 2016.

Bravo was not only famed for his cat-like reflexes at Barcelona, with his passing range and technical ability marking him out as one of the game’s most modern and revolutionary goalkeepers.

Furthermore, there are few goalkeepers better in a penalty shoot-out situation than a man who tastes glory wherever he goes.
