Manchester United star Anthony Elanga has been speaking to Fotboll Skanalen about an incident from last season’s 4-2 win over Leeds.
What’s the story?
Well, the Sweden international was unfortunately struck by a coin as he and his teammates celebrated a goal from Fred at Elland Road back in February, which put the Red Devils 3-2 ahead.
A supporter has since been found guilty of throwing the coin which hit Elanga – who sealed the win with a goal of his own after Fred’s strike – and they have now been given a ban for life by Leeds.
After hearing what had happened to the fan who hit him, the Manchester United No.36 said: “Is it true? Wow. I didn’t know that, but that’s good. Now no other fan will do what he did. That’s great. The most important thing is that the police have handled this well.”
Clearly, Leeds have no interest in being lenient with their punishments when it comes to supporters throwing objects from the stands.

Scoring against Leeds was a huge moment for Elanga so soon after breaking into the first-team at Old Trafford, and with Erik ten Hag now in charge, the £9,038-a-week wonderkid has a great chance to progress.
The Dutchman appears to be a fan of the 20-year-old, as he handed him a start in the 2-1 win over Liverpool back in August.
Elanga assisted Jadon Sancho for the opener in that particular victory, and has clearly done well at Carrington under Ten Hag to remain involved with the first-team.
However, the Manchester United wonderkid must now try even harder as competition for places increases following the £86m arrival of Antony from Ajax.
Given his price tag, the Brazilian will surely start more often than not, so Elanga must work hard to keep the likes of Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford out of the starting XI.
Only time will tell if he manages to do so, but the early signs are good under ten Hag.
