Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Telegraph revealed that Spurs could have just 13 players available to face Leicester.

What’s the story?

Well, it seems as if another Premier League clash is in jeopardy for Tottenham, as their COVID-19 crisis worsens.

The Telegraph believe Spurs have suffered a new case of Coronavirus amongst their squad, as well as one positive case in the Under-23 side.

Those who are testing negative among the Tottenham squad returned to Hotspur Way on Sunday for a restricted session, as Antonio Conte attempts to continue match preparation as best he can.

Conte also held a session on Monday which involved just 13 players, two of which were goalkeepers – some members of the Italian’s staff are also still isolating.

The Under-23 side were sent home on Monday, and due to the spread in the youth setup, Conte may not be able to call upon any of Tottenham’s prospects to make up the first-team numbers.

It’s a crisis for Spurs, to say the least.

Will the Premier League clash between Tottenham and Leicester go ahead?

As of now, it’s hard to see this game going ahead.

The Telegraph believe Tottenham are keen to play, as they have already missed their last two Premier League games against Burnley and Brighton.

Interestingly, the fact that Hotspur Way reopened suggests Conte is aware he needs to get a team prepared, so as of now, it will go ahead.

However, as aforesaid, we aren’t exactly sure what will happen.

Conte only has 13 players – including two goalkeepers – and cannot call upon any U23 players.

In that respect, it sounds as if only Pierluigi Gollini will be sat on the bench, which just isn’t feasible for Spurs or Conte.

If there’s another positive case in the Tottenham squad before Thursday’s clash with the Foxes, it may have to be a hat-trick of Premier League postponements for Spurs.

For now, let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about the update…
