Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after reading what Raphinha wrote about the club in his article for The Player’s Tribune.
What’s the story?
Well, The Player’s Tribune is usually where professional athletes write a diary-type article, which can get pretty emotional.
Raphinha’s effort is no different.
The Brazilian describes his rough upbringing, and how he faced years of rejection in the early stages of his career.
Also, the 24-year-old wrote about how much he loves Leeds, and the warm welcome supporters gave him even while in lockdown.
Raphinha wrote: “All I could think about last season was to play in front of a packed Elland Road. It was very difficult for me to arrive to empty stadiums, because the fans were such a huge part of what made me want the Prem.
“But to all you Leeds fans, I want to say that even then I felt your love and affection. Honestly, I cannot put into words how grateful I am for the way you welcomed me to the club.”
This is so refreshing to see.
Too often nowadays, players come and go for the paycheque and nothing else, although it seems as if the South American has a genuine love for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Leeds fans could take Raphinha up a level

Raphinha’s debut season in the Premier League was frighteningly good.
The £17m man scored six goals and provided nine assists in 30 Premier League appearances, but things could get even better.
Clearly, Raphinha is an emotional player, who admires the supporters.
With fans now back inside Elland Road spurring him on, we could potentially see the Leeds No.10 go up a gear.

He’s a showman, and showmen thrive on an audience being present.
After scoring a fantastic goal against Everton on Saturday, there is evidence to suggest we might just have a point.
For now, let’s see what the Leeds fans on Twitter have been saying about his comments…
