Arsenal look like they’ve pulled off a very decent signing in the form of Gabriel Magalhaes – and even some Liverpool fans are impressed by him.
Gabriel made a stunning debut for Arsenal on Saturday as Mikel Arteta’s side beat Fulham.
Not only did the Brazilian keep a clean sheet during a solid defensive performance, but he scored the Gunners’ second goal of the afternoon.
Liverpool could yet enter the market for a centre-back, after selling Dejan Lovren earlier in the summer.
And suffice to say that some fans of the Premier League champions are raving about the 22-year-old defender.
As for Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp absolutely needs another centre-back.
Yes, Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez are three brilliant options, but it’s going to be a long season, with a lot of games, and the German manager can’t gamble and hope all three stay fit for the entire campaign.
They do, of course, have the likes of Sepp van den Berg and Billy Koumetio, but they’re both teenagers and, really, the Reds could do with an experienced, recognised central defender, especially after shipping three against newly-promoted Leeds on Saturday evening.
