Jamie Redknapp has said on Sky Sports Premier League (10:11pm, February 25, 2023) that Liverpool defensive midfielder Fabinho is in decline.
The former Liverpool midfielder made the comments about Fabinho after watching him in action against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in London in the Premier League.
The match between Palace and Liverpool on Saturday evening ended in a goalless draw.
The 29-year-old did not start the match for the Reds.
Fabinho came on as a substitute in the 71st minute.
Jamie Redknapp on Liverpool midfielder Fabinho
Redknapp said about Fabinho: “He is 29 still, but he looks like he has gone over the edge. Maybe they need to find a young defensive midfield player.”

Staying positive
In our view, Liverpool fans should stay positive about Fabinho.
Yes, the Brazilian is having a bad season, but that does not mean that he is past his prime.
After all, Fabinho is only 29.
We believe that the Brazilian star will recover his form sooner or later.
We know how good Fabinho has been over the years for Liverpool.
The Brazil international defensive midfielder has been a key figure in manager Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Just because Fabinho is having a bad season does not mean that Liverpool should think that he is finished as a player at the very top level.
