Draymond Green has played an instrumental role in the Golden State Warriors’ four NBA Championships in the modern era.

When it’s all said and done, Draymond Green will retire as an iconic Golden State Warriors star and one day be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Green’s contribution to the Dubs’ four title runs cannot be overstated, but at the same time, the veteran forward is undoubtedly out of his prime.

So much so that many believe Green is holding the Warriors back amid their 13-12 start to the 2025-26 NBA season.

Golden State Warriors reportedly ready to include Draymond Green in a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo

These past few weeks, the NBA rumor mill has been buzzing with Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo potentially getting traded this season.

If Giannis indeed asks for a trade, the Warriors have been floated as a potential destination for the Greek Freak. But do the Warriors have the assets to acquire the 2x NBA MVP?

Well, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Dubs are indeed considering trading Green to potentially welcome Antetokounmpo to San Francisco.

“The only player I think in the league that Golden State would be willing to move Draymond Green for would be Giannis Antetokounmpo. That’s the only player,” Fischer wrote for HoopsHype.

He added: “Between him and Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski, all of a sudden Golden State probably does have an intriguing package if you’re Milwaukee.

Despite averaging just 8.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game, Green is making $25.8 million this season and he’s owed another $27.6 million if he opts into his player option for the 2026-27 season.

At 35, Green’s best days are behind him, which makes sense if the Warriors are really considering trading him.

Golden State Warriors may even use Jimmy Butler in trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo

Fischer once again reiterated the Warriors’ stance on trading Green in his explosive report while also giving an update on Jimmy Butler being included in a trade for Antetokounmpo.

“But I don’t think that they are going to be pushing Draymond’s salary onto the table — or Jimmy Butler’s salary — for anyone short of him,” the NBA insider stated.

For context, Butler is making a massive $54.1 million with the Warriors this season. But is Butler playing well? Yes.

Unfortunately, if an opportunity to trade him for Antetokounmpo presents itself, it would be foolish not to accept it with open arms.
