‘Going to play’: Mourinho names seven Spurs players who’ll start tonight, one debutant

Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed to the London Evening Standard that Joe Hart, Serge Aurier, Toby Alderweireld, Moussa Sissoko, Erik Lamela, Dele Alli and Harry Kane will all feature tonight, if the games goes ahead.

Spurs are set to take on Leyton Orient and Mourinho plans to rotate his side for the League Cup clash.

However, Tottenham are still set to name a fairly experienced team.

Hart will come in goal for his debut, while Aurier could make his first appearance of the season.

“Serge Aurier, Joe Hart, Moussa Sissoko, Toby Alderweireld and Erik Lamela are going to play,” Mourinho said, before going on to confirm Alli’s and Kane’s involvement too.

Of all the players Alli is the one most under pressure to produce a performance.

The England international has been left out of Tottenham’s last two match day squads, which speculation now mounting over his future.

If Alli is to force his way back into Tottenham’s team he will surely have to impress later, otherwise he could face even longer sitting on the sidelines, after seemingly falling behind the likes of Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele in the pecking order.
