Carlo Ancelotti has hinted that he wants to start Everton’s James Rodriguez against Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow at his latest press conference, which was broadcast on the club’s official Youtube channel.
Everton are due to take on Tottenham in the FA Cup, but it seems that Ancelotti plans on using a strong squad.
There are some doubts over whether Rodriguez will be fit enough to feature, as he struggled with a calf problem at the weekend.
But the Colombian is training today, and Ancelotti has hinted that if he proves his fitness, then he will be Everton’s starting line-up.
“He’s got a tight calf,” Ancelotti said. “I took him out after 70 minutes to avoid risk.
“He will train today, if he is ready to play tomorrow he’s going to play tomorrow. If he’s not ready and his calf is still tight he is going to play next game on Sunday.”

If Rodriguez is available for Everton then that would obviously be a major boost for the Toffees.
The attacking midfielder is their most creative outlet, and he could be crucial to helping break down a Tottenham team, which can be fairly stubborn defensively.
Both Everton and Tottenham are expected to name relatively strong teams tomorrow, in what should be an intriguing battle.
