Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after Mikel Arteta discussed a potential move to Paris Saint-German with BeIN Sports.

It’s safe to say they’re not happy with what he said.

As quoted by Get French Football News, Arteta told BeIN Sports: “I love Paris, I love Paris. I have very good memories from over there. It was my first club as a professional. The club is always in my heart. You never know but I have a lot of work to do (here at Arsenal).”

In our view, there’s not really much wrong with his comments, but the timing isn’t ideal.

The Spaniard – who spent the 2001/02 season on loan at PSG – simply expressed how much he admires the Parisians.

Of course, the part where he says ‘you never know’ perhaps wasn’t the best choice of words, but he does also stress his commitment to his work at Arsenal.

We’re aware Arteta was asked the question, and didn’t decide to talk about this on his own accord.

However, with Arsenal currently languishing ninth, he should refrain from discussing a potential exit from the Emirates Stadium in future.

Some fans still haven’t bought into the 38-year-old’s vision, and are simply judging him on the club’s awful domestic campaign so far.

In that respect, talking about an exit from north London, while Arsenal sit ninth, probably isn’t the wisest thing to do while some fans still aren’t 100% convinced by him.

Let’s see what the infuriated Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about his comments…
