Speaking on his Podcast, Phil Hay has shared what he knows about Kalvin Phillips and his recovery from injury.

The midfielder has been out of action for quite some time, and he’s been pictured back on the grass at Thorp Arch, sparking speculation that his return to action could be imminent.

However, according to Hay, the midfielder is not in full training, and his injury is going to be analysed on Friday.

Hay says that, sadly, his return will likely be after the upcoming international break.

What’s been said?

Hay shared his information on Phillips.

“Phillips isn’t in full training, people have seen pictures of him back out on the grass, but there’s a difference between being on the grass and working individually with fitness coaches and being involved in the sessions,” Hay said.

“Phillips is still to resume full training and they’re going to have a look at him on Friday, it’s likely to be the other side of the international break for him as well.”

Promising

While Leeds would like to have Phillips back as soon as possible, the fact that his return is just around the corner is promising.

We’re entering the business end of the season, and the Whites will need all of their key players available to them if they’re going to beat the drop.

Phillips may miss some key games between now and the international break, but his return could give Leeds the boost they need to avoid relegation.
