Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are excited by a potential development regarding Oliver Skipp.

According to The Athletic, Spurs are keen to tie the player down to a new long-term deal in North London.

Fabio Paratici signed five players for Tottenham during the summer transfer window.

But it seems like the Italian also has an eye on keeping the Lilywhites’ best players for the long term.

Skipp came through the club’s academy and is a very popular player among fans of Tottenham.

And here’s how some of them reacted to this development on Twitter:

Massive

This would be massive.

Skipp, who has started five Premier League games for Spurs under Nuno Espirito Santo, is going to be such a big player for the club.

He’ll be so big, in fact, that it wouldn’t be a surprise if bigger fish – like a Liverpool or a Manchester City – come sniffing around the kid over the coming years.

And although that still might happen, a brand-spanking new contract is much more of a deterrent.

With Daniel Levy as chairman, rival clubs know that Skipp’s valuation will go through the roof if Tottenham have the security of a long-term contract.

As things stand, the 21-year-old is contracted to the Hotspur Way club until 2024 but an extension could take him to 2027 potentially.

And that, if it materialises, would be a stunning bit of good news.
