Tony Cascarino says he can’t see Harry Kane leaving Tottenham Hotspur and securing a transfer to Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea.

The former striker referenced Sol Campbell’s infamous free transfer from Tottenham to Arsenal and how that caused an absolute storm, and still does even to this day.

Even though Mauricio Pochettino is Chelsea’s new coach, Cascarino says ‘Harry Kane won’t do that’ and swap one bitter London rival for another, as he told talkSPORT.

Whilst a transfer to money-crazy Chelsea might not be on the cards, it doesn’t mean that Kane won’t be leaving Spurs this summer.

The £200k-a-week star (Spotrac) is out-of-contract next summer and Daniel Levy is at serious risk of losing his star striker for nothing.

Given that Chelsea are in serious need of a number nine, Kane’s name has popped up, but Cascarino explained why Kane won’t make such a move.

“A lot of people would be saying ‘would it be as disloyal as going to Arsenal like Sol Campbell did’,” said Cascarino

“And that came at a huge cost for Sol personally because it was a difficult decision that he made and it was always going to be hard to accept for Tottenham fans.

“I just don’t see Kane doing that. Beating Jimmy Greaves’ record (and then playing for Chelsea), Jimmy Greaves even played for both, but that was a different era.”

Kane still needs to leave Spurs

Chelsea or not Chelsea, the England striker needs to open a new chapter in his goal-crazy career and provide him with much better chances of winning a trophy.

It’s not going to happen at Spurs, even after the arrival of Ange Postecoglou, who has just won the treble in the colours of Celtic.

For Spurs fans, it will probably digest a lot better if their club record goalscorer moved abroad, rather than being transferred to another Premier League side.
