If Tottenham Hotspur fans hadn’t heard of Noni Madueke before, some definitely do now.

The England youth international quit Spurs in 2018 to join PSV Eindhoven, rejecting Manchester United to do so.

And it looks like the move is starting to pay off for Tottenham’s academy gem.

Back in March, the 18-year-old made his senior debut for the Eredivisie club and, if his performance in a friendly on Saturday is anything to go by, fans of the North London club could be hearing about him a lot more often.

PSV thumped German side SC Verl 3-0 in a pre-season outing yesterday – and it was Madueke who scored all three goals in a superb 43-minute hat-trick.

And here’s how some supporters are reacting to their former academy star’s performance on Twitter:

Previous reports have indicated that Tottenham wanted to keep him at Hotspur Way, so if he does develop into a truly special player you could hardly blame the Lilywhites.

It was such a brave move by the lad to leave Spurs to join a foreign club – and reject a powerhouse like United, too – but hopefully this is the start of him getting rewarded for his courage.
