Stuart Pearce has claimed that Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka is a ‘real outstanding talent’, as he told talkSPORT (09/10/21 at 9:50 pm).
The West Ham coach feels Arsenal need to provide as much minutes as they can to the attack-minded player, as he used Wayne Rooney as an example.
England and Manchester United’s highest goal-getter came through as a 16-year-old – a few years younger than Saka.
There was no doubt more spotlight on Rooney than Saka, but they are both players who were under huge pressures as teenagers.
Pearce, whilst in the West Ham dugout, would have come up against Saka on a number of occasions and this is what he had to say about the player.
“He has shown some real outstanding talent, there’s no doubt about it,” said Pearce. “And the age he is, he can only get better.
“I am of the opinion that young players need to play football and play as much football as they possibly can. All the best players play all the games, it’s as simple as that.
“Going back to Rooney, and all the outstanding talents, they played all the matches. Saka will only get better with game time.”

To think at the age of 20, Saka is one of Arsenal’s key players says a lot about the talent in his boots.
Yes, it probably also indicates where the North London club are because they haven’t exactly been walking on water in recent years.
Mikel Arteta’s side finished without European football last season – the first time that has happened in 25 years.
But if they are to get back to their best then they need someone like Saka firing on all cylinders.
He’s not the only young gun making noises though because there is also Emile Smith Rowe carrying the ball like he has a Playstation controller in hand.
