Darren Ambrose has said on talkSPORT that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur should bid for RB Leipzig and Croatia international central defender Josko Gvardiol in the January transfer window.
The Tottenham-supporting pundit has been hugely impressed by Gvardiol, who has been linked with Tottenham in the January transfer window.
The former Newcastle United midfielder believes that Tottenham should go all out for the 20-year-old defender, who starred for Croatia at the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
According to 90min this month, former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea want to sign Gvardiol and are confident of securing the services of the RB Leipzig central defender in the summer of 2023.
TMW have reported that Tottenham want to sign the 20-year-old defender in the summer of 2023.
Tottenham Hotspur told to sign Josko Gvardiol
Ambrose said, as transcribed by TBR: “Gvardiol – he’s only 20! There’s a clip that goes around, Argentina vs Croatia, he gets drawn out, that’s the only mistake he makes.
“But he’s done everything right, everything a coach will tell a defender against Messi, he did everything right. It’s just unlucky that it was against one of the best players that has ever played.

“Other than that, he has been a sensation. I look at where he plays and then I look at my team – Spurs – what they need, they need another centre-half. I’ll be going all out to get this guy.”
Could a January transfer happen?
In our opinion, Tottenham Hotspur are unlikely to be able to sign Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig in the January transfer window.
Now, of course, Tottenham could make a big bid for the Croatia international central defender in the middle of the season, but Leipzig are unlikely to entertain it.
After all, Leipzig are a big and rich club who are aiming to win the Bundesliga title this season.
They will surely not want to lose a player like Gvardiol in the middle of the campaign.
