Matthew Upson has criticised Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah on BBC Sport for going down too easily under pressure from Tottenham Hotspur central defender Eric Dier in the North London derby at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Antonio Conte’s Tottenham are in action against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the Premier League this evening.

England international striker Harry Kane has scored two goals for Tottenham in the first half.

Arsenal central defender Rob Holding has been sent off.

The atmosphere at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is electric.

Tottenham now look set for a win in the North London derby.

However, it could have been a different outcome had the referee given Arsenal a spot kick in the opening minutes.

It would have been the wrong decision, though.

Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard poked the ball to through to Eddie Nketiah in the box.

Dier came across to make the tackle, and Nketiah went down.

The Arsenal striker was not touched, and former Arsenal centre-back and BBC Sport pundit Upson has criticised him, saying that the youngster dived and deservedly did not get anything.

Upson on Eddie Nketiah – Eric Dier during Tottenham v Arsenal

Upson told BBC Sport: “It is a dive. I don’t think Eric Dier gets any of the ball, he slides alongside him and Eddie Nketiah just goes to ground.”
