Arsenal return to Premier League action with a home game against Southampton, and it’s set up to be an intriguing battle which should see a good few goals to excite the Emirates crowd.

The Gunners’ opening fixture at home ended in a 4-3 defeat to Liverpool, while on their last visit to Watford they hit the back of the net three times again though this time in a 3-1 victory.

Southampton took four points off Arsenal last season as they defeated Arsene Wenger’s men 4-0 at St. Mary’s before holding out for a 0-0 at the Emirates, yet this season they have not got going.

An early goal for Arsenal could see some heads drop in the visitors’ ranks, and a comfortable first home win of the season may follow with a few goals to boot.

Paris Saint-Germain v Arsenal (September 13)

Arsenal have been handed a tasty Champions League group, being placed alongside French giants PSG while Switzerland’s Basel and Bulgaria’s Ludogorets Razgrad will pose interesting tests.

The Gunners should qualify, though they will be desperate to finish top of the group in order to avoid an immediate tough knockout-round opponent so this clash in Paris could be key.

The hosts will want to make a statement early on and an opening goal could see the game open right up and leave both defences vulnerable to the quality attacking options on show.

Hull v Arsenal (September 17)

When these two teams face each other there are usually goals in it, and Arsenal have scored seven times on their last two visits to the KC Stadium.

The Tigers will want to keep things tight at the back under Mike Phelan, though as Watford found out last weekend stopping the Gunners in full is often a difficult task.
