Newcastle United transfer target, Jordan Pickford, has won the ‘Save of the Season’ award for Everton.
The Premier League’s official website posted that Pickford won the award for his goalline saving stop to deny Cesar Azpilicueta during Everton’s crucial win over Chelsea in May.
It proved to be very, very crucial, in the end, because the Toffees survived relegation to the Championship by the skin of their teeth.
Nonetheless, the transfer rumour mill is starting to pick up, with Everton and Newcastle hoping to make moves in the summer.
Newcastle have more room to splash the cash than those from Merseyside, whose FFP situation is being questioned by Burnley and Leeds United, as reported by BBC Sport.
Just like the January transfer window, Newcastle will be looking to make their mark and statements of intent again this summer.

PICKFORD ENDING UP AT NEWCASTLE WOULD CAUSE A STIR
But it would be the shock of all shocks if Pickford, a former Sunderland player, landed on their doorstep.
The England number one is linked with the Magpies, with talkSPORT reporting that Everton might sell their star keeper.
Everton possibly selling Pickford could be understandable because of their financial situation.
But if he ends up at St James’ Park, then it would cause quite the stir, that’s for sure.
