Rangers manager Steven Gerrard could reunite with the 22-year-old at Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard is set to reunite with Andy Firth at Rangers, according to the Sun.
Goalkeeper Firth is said to be undergoing a medical at Rangers, having ‘jumped at the chance’ to join the Ibrox side from Barrow AFC.
The 22-year-old only signed for the National League side after his release by Liverpool in the summer transfer window, having previously been coached by Gerrard at Anfield.
He has also spent time on loan at Chester FC.
Nevertheless, it is claimed that Firth will fight for a place in Gerrard’s first-team squad at Rangers.
Rangers’ goalkeeping options already include Allan McGregor, Wes Foderingham and Robby McCrorie and it is unclear what Firth’s arrival would mean for the latter two in particular.
The Sun’s report contains no mention of a potential transfer fee for Firth, who has played 18 times for Ian Evatt’s side this season.
