According to Bild, Tottenham Hotspur hold an interest in Ajax midfielder Mohamed Kudus, and it’s not hard to understand why.
The versatile Ghanaian has been on fire this season. He has seven goals to his name already this season, and that’s while barely playing much football.
Indeed, Kudus has scored seven goals in 12 appearances in the league and in Europe, but for some reason, he’s been limited to just 560 minutes of football in those matches, averaging about one half of football every time he plays.
With Kudus playing so well, we have to wonder why Ajax aren’t using him at any and every possible opportunity, subbing him on or off in almost every match he’s played this season.

This could potentially be a fitness issue, and while that isn’t ideal, if you have a player who is scoring at a rate of one goal every 80 minutes, it’s not the end of the world if he’s not able to complete a full 90 every single time he steps onto the pitch.
However, if fitness is the problem, that may be a bit of a stumbling block for Antonio Conte.
Indeed, the Italian needs his players to be in tip-top condition, as has been shown by his regular criticism of Yves Bissouma’s fitness this season, and if Kudus was signed for him, he may not be too impressed by his inability to complete an entire game, an issue that could be exasperated by Conte’s rigorous style of play.
Kudus is certainly a player that presents an interesting conundrum. On one hand, he’s a fantastically talented footballer who is finding the back of the net at an astounding rate this season, but the fact that he’s not being trusted to play the amount of minutes a key player would usually warrant does set alarm bells ringing.
