Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko is impressing on loan at FC Midtjylland.

Celtic defender Erik Sviatchenko starred for loan side FC Midtjylland on Monday night as he became the Danish side’s unlikely hero in a superb comeback win to beat Copenhagen 3-2.
The 26-year-old was loaned out by Celtic in the January transfer window after Brendan Rodgers brought in Marvin Compper from RB Leipzig and Jack Hendry from Dundee at centre-back.

The Denmark international returned to his former club and he has seemingly returned to his best form as he starred in Midtjylland’s Superligaen Championship round clash against Copenhagen with a goal and an assist.
His loan side posted highlights of the enthralling game on their official website, which sees Copenhagen go 2-0 up before Sviatchenko sets up Tim Sparv for his side’s first before volleying a corner home himself with impeccable ease.
Do Celtic miss Sviatchenko?

Arguably, no. Though the signing of Compper has turned out to be somewhat of a transfer blunder, with the German only playing once for the Hoops, Celtic do not need the five-time international.
The form of Kristoffer Ajer has come at the perfect time for Rodgers, with the young Norwegian now considered Celtic’s best centre-back. Dedryck Boyata is becoming more consistent, while Hendry is developing well.
That is even without Jozo Simunovic and Compper, while Mikael Lustig and Kieran Tierney can play at centre-back. All in all, Celtic would be better of selling Sviatchenko this summer despite his good form.
