Speaking on his YouTube channel, Rio Ferdinand has been chatting about Leeds United’s Raphinha amid ongoing transfer speculation.

The Brazilian has been Leeds’ brightest spark this season, and with the Whites in a relegation dogfight, he could be on the move this summer.

Barcelona and Liverpool have been linked, and Ferdinand believes that if he joins a bigger club he will go up another gear.

What’s been said?

Ferdinand gave his verdict on Raphinha.

“Yeah, I like him, I like Raphinha, I like the way he plays. I think he had a spell in the season where he was the most decisive player at Leeds. If he went to a better team he would go up a level again, I think there’s more to come from him. He will be an interesting player, especially at that valuation, £25m in today’s market, that’s a very good price for someone like him,” Ferdinand said.

Room to improve

At the age of just 25, Raphinha has a lot of room to improve, and if he joined a team like Liverpool, he almost certainly would.

Jurgen Klopp has already worked wonders with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane, and if Raphinha heads to Anfield, he could also transform into a true world-beater.

His pace and technique are already at the top level, he just needs to finetune some other aspects of his game.

Raphinha could be a real star if he makes a big move.
