Reports Danny Ings will leave Liverpool have prompted a lot of debate amongst fans.

A number of Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news that Danny Ings is looking set to leave Anfield this summer to secure first-team football – as reported by BBC Sport – and interestingly, several Reds fans have urged the club to send him to Rangers for a year to prove himself.
Ings has endured a torrid time since arriving on Merseyside for a fee of £8 million, as reported by BBC Sport. After a bright start to his Reds career, injury ruled him out for most of 2015/16 and all of the following campaign. He did make 14 appearances in all competitions last season, but struggled to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

And now BBC Sport is reporting that Ings will look to leave Liverpool this summer, and that has prompted a lot of debate on social media. Many Liverpool fans believe that it is the right time for this particular chapter in Ings’ career to conclude, while there have been a number of supporters who have suggested that he should spend a year at Ibrox working under new Gers boss Steven Gerrard.
He would certainly have the quality to take the Scottish Premiership by storm. And with Ings clearly a popular player amongst the Liverpool fans, some are clearly hoping that he could perhaps move to Rangers on loan for a season and score the goals that not only ensure that Gerrard gets off to a flyer in his first season with the Light Blues but also allow Ings to prove to Klopp exactly what he is capable of.

Whether a move to Rangers is at all possible or on the radar remains to be seen, but there is no question that the general consensus is that Ings leaving makes a lot of sense.
With Liverpool boasting one of the most exciting attacks in the Premier League, his path seems incredibly blocked and he needs to prove that he can be relied upon fitness-wise. Unfortunately, that is unlikely to happen on Merseyside.
