Even some Manchester United fans are hoping that Sergio Romero joins Leeds United are his latest omission.
Romero was dropped for David De Gea last night, as United took on Sevilla in the semi-finals of the Europa League.
The Argentine stopper had been United’s first choice in the competition up until last night, when De Gea returned to take his place in goal.
And some Red Devils supporters actually think that a move to Leeds could be good for Romero now.
ESPN have reported how Leeds are interested in Romero, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side searching for a new number one.
Leeds do have Kiko Casilla and Illan Meslier to pick from in goal, but it is thought that Romero could be an upgrade on ether of them.
Romero is considered to be one of the very best back-up stoppers in the whole of the Premier League and if he was to join Leeds he would surely be instated as first-choice immediately upon his arrival.
That could be music to the ears of the 33-year-old, as he has never quite been able to knock De Gea out of the team at Old Trafford, with most his time spent on the bench since joining.
