Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka has told Aaron Ramsey on Instagram ‘proud of you’ after he secured a transfer from Unai Emery’s Aston Villa to Vincent Kompany’s Burnley.

The 20-year-old spent last season on-loan at Norwich City and then Middlesbrough, who lost in the play-off semi-finals, with Burnley, as they stormed the Championship, clearly taking a liking to what they saw from the playmaker.

Aaron Ramsey reacted on Instagram to his transfer, as he thanked Aston Villa for all their efforts after coming through the club’s ranks as a young gun, but added that he is now ‘proud to call Burnley my new home’.

This is a big move for the player and he will be hoping to have the impact his brother, Jacob, is having for the Villa senior side.

Depending on his fitness, there is every chance that he can make his debut against Villa, of all teams, on Sunday at Turf Moor.

Nonetheless, when Ramsey’s transfer was confirmed, he received a number of messages on IG.

“All the best my brother ❤️❤️❤️ forever proud of you,” said Chukwuemeka. “Go time.”

John McGinn added: “Good luck, ma man.”, whilst Emi Buendia said: “All the best, baller.”

Very good move for Ramsey

If Ramsey had stayed at Villa, then he would have more than likely been a bench player and started very few matches, even though the Midlands side are in Europe.

But this is a positive move from the Villa academy product because he is now swimming in the deep end.

One thing is for sure, he suits Burnley’s style of play down to a tee and it will be interesting to see how he progresses for a side that’s trying to play front-foot attacking football in the Premier League.
