‘Go’: Pundit thinks 25-year-old needs to leave Arsenal ‘to progress in his career’

One of the players who is struggling for playing time at Arsenal at the moment is Aaron Ramsdale, and talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan thinks that the Gunners goalkeeper should leave.

Aaron Ramsdale is now the number two goalkeeper at Arsenal.

David Raya is the first-choice goalkeeper for the Gunners at the moment.

Raya joined Arsenal from London and Premier League rivals Brentford in the summer transfer window.

Aaron Ramsdale told to leave Arsenal

Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has said that Ramsdale needs to leave Arsenal to progress in his career if he does not get back into the team.

Jordan said on talkSPORT: “I think this smells and feels like Ramsdale needs to go somewhere else if he is going to progress in his career. 

“It doesn’t quite have the connotations of Joe Hart, but it has the whiff of it in terms of he was in and around being the England goalkeeper at the time, he was doing very little wrong, even though I didn’t think he was a great goalkeeper.”

My View: Aaron Ramsdale should consider Arsenal future next summer

I do not think that Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale should leave in the January transfer window.

In my view, the 25-year-old should stay at Arsenal for the rest of the season.

Of course, a place in the England squad for the Euro 2024 finals is at stake, but it is unlikely that Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford will lose his status as the number one anytime soon.

England head coach Gareth Southgate is very likely to pick Ramsdale in his squad even if he does not play much in the coming weeks and months.

After all, Southgate tends to pick Harry Maguire and Kalvin Phillips even when the defender and the midfielder are not regulars for Manchester United and Manchester City respectively.

Arsenal are a massive club, and I believe that Ramsdale should fight for his place in the coming months.

The Gunners could win the Premier League title this season and are also playing in the UEFA Champions League.

David Raya is making mistakes, and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could decide to bring Ramsdale back into the starting lineup.

Ramsdale has made 151 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The goalkeeper has kept 37 clean sheets and has given one assist in those games.
