Mason Mount, Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson were just some of the players on Instagram to react to Harry Wilson leaving Liverpool.
The Wales winger has completed a £12 million move to Championship side Fulham after coming through Liverpool’s academy, as reported by Sky Sports.
Wilson has tasted life in England’s second-tier before when he smashed it to all parts in the colours of then-Frank Lampard’s Derby County.
A stint at Bournemouth in the Premier League followed, but he struggled to make his mark, as he returned to Cardiff on loan last season.
And now he will be donning the colours of Fulham, who were relegated from the Premier League in May.
When Wilson posted on Instagram that he is ‘delighted’ to be joining Fulham, he received several well-wish messages.
Chelsea midfielder, Mount, who thrived alongside him at Derby, wrote: “Go on the Wiz!”
Jody Morris, who coached him at Pride Park, added: “Do well lad.” Whilst his Liverpool teammate, Jordan Henderson said: “All the best.”
Wilson has proven before that he is capable of producing the goods in the Championship and that test will follow him once more.
It’s going to be a tough task in trying to help Fulham earn promotion because they will have to get over that psychological barrier of losing quite regularly from last season.
But if the London club are to return to the promised land next May then it’s another chance for Wilson to make it work amongst the elite.
The Welshman is a very gifted technical player, who has great dead-ball ability and long-distance shooting, but he will want to showcase that he can have more of an impact in the final third outside of those qualities.
