Stan Collymore has told CaughtOffside that Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney would be a good signing for Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.
The former Villa striker has urged Emery to make a move for Arsenal and Scotland international left-back Tierney if there is a chance that he could sign him for the Villans.
Collymore believes that the £110,000-a-week (SalarySport) Arsenal left-back would be an upgrade on Lucas Digne.
There has been speculation that Arsenal could cash on on Tierney at the end of the season.
The former Celtic star has had injury problems during his time at the Gunners so far.
Tierney is not guaranteed a place in the Arsenal starting lineup now following the signing of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City in the summer of 2022.
The Ukraine international can operate as a left-back or as a midfielder.
Aston Villa urged to sign Kieran Tierney from Arsenal
Collymore said about Tierney: “If it is true that the Gunners want to offload him, I really hope Aston Villa go in for him.
“It would make sense as well because I don’t think Lucas Digne is going to be there much longer and although the Frenchman has done alright since he joined, Tierney is definitely an upgrade.”

Could a transfer happen?
In our view, Aston Villa could be able to sign Kieran Tierney from Premier League rivals Arsenal in the summer of 2023.
If the defender struggles for regular playing time between now and the end of the season and Arsenal decide to cash in on him, then a transfer to Villa could happen.
Villa manager Unai Emery worked with Tierney when he was the manager of Arsenal.
The Villans are doing well under Emery, and the former Paris Saint-Germain manager could make the team good enough to compete for the European places in the Premier League table in the coming seasons.
A move to Villa Park could be appealing to Tierney.
