Steven Gerrard has left Rangers, and while many Gers supporters will wish him well, there are also some fans that are sour about his departure.

It’s understandable, Gerrard looked to be building something exciting at Ibrox, but he’s left prematurely and as you can imagine, some fans are rooting against their former boss.

Interestingly, Gerrard’s first game as Villa boss will be against Brighton and Hove Albion, and there’s one player who could become an unlikely hero in the eyes of some Rangers fans.

Duffy, of course, spent last season on loan at Celtic, and he became something of a cult hero for the Ibrox faithful due to some of his comically poor performances for the Bhoys.

However, he’s been resurgent at Brighton this season and Rangers fans are hoping that he can turn up against Villa next week and spoil Gerrard’s party.

Here’s what Rangers supporters have been saying on social media…
