TalkSPORT pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor has said that Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur should sign James Ward-Prowse from Southampton.
The former Aston Villa striker has said on talkSPORT that Tottenham Hotspur need to sign a number 10 and has urged Spurs to bring in midfielder James Ward-Prowse from Southampton in the summer transfer window.
In May, The Daily Mail reported that Tottenham are keeping tabs on the 28-year-old England international midfielder.
Agbonlahor said, as transcribed by TBR: “I would say the big position for them is number 10. They lack a lot of creativity.
“I would go and get Ward-Prowse. They’re going to get him at a cut fee with the relegation of Southampton.”
Should Tottenham Hotspur sign James Ward-Prowse from Southampton?
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur should not try to sign James Ward-Prowse from Southampton in the summer transfer window.
We do not think that the 28-year-old is a world-class player, and he is not really a brilliant number 10.

While the England international can play in attacking midfield, he is more of a central midfielder who can venture forward.
James Maddison is number 10 that Tottenham need.
Spurs have not had a brilliant playmaker since the departure of Christian Pulisic.
If Spurs are really in the market for a number 10, then Maddison is the player they should go for, not Ward-Prowse.
Tottenham do have enough central midfielders on their books at the moment.
Oliver Skipp, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Pape Matar Sarr, Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma are good midfield options for new Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou.
