Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Duncan Castles has shared an interesting transfer plan that Leeds United have drawn up.
The Whites made a splash in the market upon their return to the Premier League, spending almost £100m in the summer, and it seems as though they don’t plan on stopping their spending there.
Indeed, Castles says that Leeds are planning on going aggressively into the market in the summer of 2022 in an attempt to build a team that can compete for European places.
“Radrizzani has talked about how he wants to establish Leeds as the Premier League’s seventh force by 2025. So basically having them on the tail of the traditional big six, to the extent that they are still the big six given this season’s results,” Castles said.
“By doing so, massively increasing the valuation of the club, to what he says he hopes to get it to in the region of £600m to £1bn, which is way way above where they were when he bought the club and far above where they’d be if he decided to sell the club in its entirety at present.
“Part of that strategy has been to keep Leeds in the division, they see this season as one of consolidation, and also next season as one of consolidation, so insure that they are competitive in the Premier League, and then in the third season, go aggressively into the market and build a squad that can be competitive towards the top end and compete for European football.”

This is a very exciting update to say the least.
Leeds may not have a blockbuster window next summer, but as long as they stay in the Premier League, it seems as though they have big plans drawn up for 2022.
Who will come through the door remains to be seen, but with reports recently linking Leeds with a move for Max Allegri, there’s seemingly no end to the club’s ambition at this moment in time.
