Rangers attacker scored two – and could have had a third.

Rangers winger Glenn Middleton has told the club’s official website that over-excitement prevented him from scoring a hat-trick.
On his first start for the Gers, Middleton scored twice, leading Rangers to a 4-0 win over Ayr.
Middleton’s goals led Rangers into the Scottish League Cup semi-finals.
The 18-year-old had a chance for a third, which he did not take.

Speaking to Rangers’ official website, Middleton said: “I got a little bit too excited!
“I just rushed my first touch but hopefully if I get another chance, then hopefully it comes.”
Even so, two goals was a pretty good return for the teenager.
He added that he is loving the support he has received so far, commenting: “I am very grateful for all of the support the fans are giving me, and hopefully I can keep showing what I can do with every chance I get and keep repaying the faith shown in me.”
Middleton is building a serious case now to earn a starting spot in Premiership games and he has given boss Steven Gerrard a nice selection headache.
A hat-trick would have made it impossible to leave him out, but his over eagerness and exuberance which led to him missing the chance for his third, was just a reminder, that he still has plenty to learn despite his heroics.
