Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers brought Glenn Middleton to Ibrox from Norwich City in the January transfer window.
Rangers midfielder Glenn Middleton has told The Scottish Sun that Norwich City did not fancy him.
Middleton joined Rangers in the January transfer window after leaving Norwich City in the Championship in England.
The winger moved to the Gers on January transfer deadline day and is part of the club’s development squad at the moment.
The Scotland Under-19 international has admitted that Norwich did not rate him highly, and the talented and promising young winger has also outlined his ambition to play for the Rangers first team.
Middleton told The Scottish Sun: “Norwich didn’t really fancy me anymore. It was just one of those things that happen in football.”
“Every young boy sets themselves a target to get that appearance in the first team and I’m no different,” added Middleton. “I would love to be given that chance.
“It’s nice to hear what the manager said about me when I signed. I have been a Rangers fan all my life and all my family are, so to hear that was great. That would be a dream come true – maybe one day!”
Future Rangers star
Middleton is a good and promising young winger who is playing well for the Rangers youth team at the moment.
Given that the youngster’s contract with Rangers is until May 2020, there is quite some time for him to break into the Gers’ first team.
Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton rates Middleton highly, and was quoted as saying by The Scottish Sun in February 2018 that Rangers have made a good signing in the young winger.
